Cave Castle: The gorgeous destination
Nestor: Fantastic Yoga teacher for the retreat
I am happy to involve my friends during my retreats. They are part of my healing journey, colleagues that I’ve met during my Hypnotherapy course and wonderful people that like me love to help others.
Nestor Portnoy is not only my Yoga teacher, he is also a precious friend who will be active part for some of our retreats. You’ll see his name mentioned in our retreats.
Hi, my name is Nestor and I started practising yoga more than 20 years ago and have been teaching yoga for about 9 years. I am a British Wheel of Yoga diploma teacher (BWY dip.), which is one of the longest and most respected yoga teacher training courses. I’ve trained in both Swedish and Traditional Thai massage, and the knowledge I gained there complements my yoga teaching, especially when doing adjustments. In the last few years I have spent hundreds of hours in yoga workshops and retreats, both teaching and learning.
I am always happy to meet old friends from the yoga community and make new ones, and share experiences, both in the yogic and social aspects.
Apart from being a yoga teacher I am also a nurse with a long experience in several medical fields, including neurological and mental health, I hold a master degree in General History, and speak Spanish and Hebrew. I am interested in several aspects of yoga: the postures (asana) and sequences (vinyasa), the breathing practices (pranayama) and the “locks” of yoga (bandha), the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of the practice of yoga, relaxation and meditation.
I like to call myself an eclectic teacher. I don’t follow any specific school of yoga or “tradition”, as we call them, but I adopt ideas and practices from many of them, such as Satyananda, Iyengar, Sivananda, Krishnamacharya, and I respect all of them. I like gentle yoga, meditation and relaxation, but all my classes have an element of physical challenge, that I believe is good and healthy for us. Alongside teaching yoga in clubs, community centres and studios, and also by Zoom, I have a varied experience in teaching yoga in somewhat different environments, teaching seated and wheelchair yoga to the elderly and to students with neurological conditions, yoga for recovery, delivering classes in several prisons and psychiatric hospitals to the inmates or patients and staff, teaching adults with learning disabilities, and children with special needs in a secondary school. I am the Vice-Chair of the North Yorkshire Yoga Federation, a charity that promotes the practice of yoga in the community.
I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in Camelia’s Hypnotherapy Retreats and if you are interested to have a yoga class with me, a massage or a meditation session, please get in contact.
